The Weekend Interview With Andrew Breitbart: Taking On the 'Democrat-Media Complex' - WSJ.com
What a great article. I loved every bit of it except the last paragraph where author JAMES TARANTO states:
What a great article. I loved every bit of it except the last paragraph where author JAMES TARANTO states:
Even if one accepts Mr. Breitbart's critique of the mainstream media, nobody should root for their downfall or destruction. Their role—that of impartial watchdog and broker of information—is a vital one, whether
or not they perform it well. While Breitbart-style opinionated journalism can provide healthy competition, it cannot substitute for straight news. As Mr. Breitbart himself says, in an unusually modest
moment, "I'm not looking to slay the dragon . . . but I wanted to embarrass the dragon into being a more reasonable dragon."
I have a bit of an issue with this statement. True the media as it was envisioned by our founding fathers was to be a watchdog of the government, to keep it in check for the people. What the Mainstream media has become, in effect, is a mouth piece for a certain political party, aka the Democratic Party. The main stream media is so skewed towards liberalism and destroying what the founding fathers tasked them to do initially that in effect the Main stream media has become the enemy OF the people, instead of the watchdog FOR the people.
People like Andrew Breitbar, James O'Keefe, and Hannah Giles, are true Americans looking out for WE THE PEOPLE. THAT is what the media should look like. Yes, maybe their tactics were a littel guerilla, but hey, in this day and age where the main stream media is effectively suppressing the truth and covering for a political party, aka the Democratic Party. THAT is truely a scandal of momentus proportions, which if not for people like Andrew Breitbar, James O'Keefe, and Hannah Giles would barely get heard because of the corruption and collusion in the mainstream media. And almost was in deed covered up if not for Andrew Breitbars' plan to expose the media for the corrupt mouth piece of the Democratic Party that it is.
Cheers to Andrew Breitbar, James O'Keefe, and Hannah Giles, and the others out there unwilling to bend to the thug pressure by corrupt leftists in this country and expose the truth and the cover up. As we all know, "The cover-up is always worse than the original lie."
