These two men were doing their jobs, and doing it well when they shot a drug dealer/smuggler actually in transit with drugs on him. These two border patrol agents were WRONGFULLY convicted, and WRONGFULLY jailed.
It is about time that these innocent men who were right in doing their job - and if it takes force to do it then so be it, our southern boarder with Mexico is a war zone!
These men should not have been vilified and prosecuted, they should have been AWARDED a medal for doing their job and stopping a drug smuggler in their tracks. (Although, if marijuana was legal there wouldn't be this problem of drug smugglers running huge loads of drugs into our country illegally - THEY WOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS, thus the violence would be gone with it.)
It was an absolute abomination what was done to our federal security agents for simply doing their job. This episode does much to deteriorate and hurt the moral of our fighting men and women who are just trying to keep America safe. The people who prosecuted this case should be the ones ON TRIAL and facing treason charges for defending someone who is breaking our laws and flaunting justice in our faces. This was a mockery of anything resembling America. It should be learned from and never allowed to occur again.
